1/5/2024 0 Comments Alexa multi room musicWhen I entered my kids room I noticed that the aux cable was unplugged from the Alexa dot - Alexa was connected via bluetooth to the receiver and playing the same "Chill Jazz" in sync with everywhere else in the house.? - Did this feature sneak under my nose in the past few weeks? I was playing the music via Spotify and initially started the music by saying, "Alexa, play Chill Jazz on Spotify everywhere. A pop-up menu appears, and you should select Add Multi-Room Music. Then, hit the plus icon at the top right corner in the next window. It’s the house icon at the bottom right of the screen. I went around turning off the amplifiers in the rooms I didn't wan't music playing in - this is how I get around the lack of support for Alexa devices being a part of more than one multi-room group. Open the Alexa app and select the Smart Home Control icon. Fire up the Alexa mobile app, tap the + button in the top-right corner of the screen, tap Combine speakers, then tap the Multi-room music tile. Last night when I had some friends over we had my go to "Chill Jazz" playlist playing on the multi-room group. Prior to the multi-room music feature I had each Alexa dot paired with each of their amps via bluetooth, but switched over to aux after multi-room was enabled, but lacked bluetooth support. This is how I have made use of the multi-room feature for months. All of them connect via the aux to individual external amplifiers and speakers. but I have 7 Alexa dots in a multi-room music group.
